Florence Gagnon and Dana Edmonds are among the 60 emerging artists participating to Créer des ponts, an Art Souterrain art initiative.
Florence Gagnon, a multidisciplinary artist whose practice includes printmaking, sculpture and installation, holds a Bachelor’s degree in visual and media arts from UQAM. The plasticity of the material plays a determining role in her work, while attention to gesture is crucial for her. The interaction between her body and the material determines the direction of her work.
Dana Edmonds is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice includes oil painting, digital collage, photography and graphic design. She holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax. She has also studied Art Education at McGill University and Graphic Design at Dawson College. In her work inspired from her personal and intimate experiences, Dana explores various forms of urban waste and investigates the relationship between overconsumption and its effects on mental health.
