FULL-TIME/PART-TIME ASSISTANT SHIFT LEAD

Responsibilities: Greet guests as they enter the shop, ask whether they would like assistance with anything and provide help if needed in a friendly, hospitable and efficient manner Delivering excellent service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Ability to multitask, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business Operate a cash register and perform related tasks, including cash handling, credit card processing and opening and closing of the register when on the first or last shift of the day; prepare bank deposits Knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements Remain knowledgeable about and answer questions related to merchandise, sales, promotions and store policy Straighten, arrange, stock and dust off merchandise, maintain shelving areas as directed by management and participate in the designing of displays in windows and on tables Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts Alerts the management of potential security issues Ensure health and safety standards are followed Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Flexible work hours and times

Skills & Experience Required:

  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures
  • Ability to lift merchandise weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Hands-on experience with POS transactions
  • Proven experience as a Shift Leader or relevant managerial role
  • Able to give clear directions and set expectations for staff
  • Capacity to train and develop team members
  • Ability to properly assess a situation quickly while keeping a professional and calm demeanor
  • Knowledge of the industry and relevant health and safety regulations
  • Experience in Retail stores is an asset
